Together, Apart

Away from home, a year has flown,
Missed festivals, moments in a world unknown.
A hard year carved for both, you and me,
Like a chapter unwritten, yet rich in memory.

From just colleagues to something much more,
Family we became on this distant shore.
Late nights working, challenges to meet,
We faced them all, never accepting defeat.

From Tabuk’s sands to Al Baha’s heights,
To Abha’s calm, under starry nights.
We watched F1 cars, a blur of speed,
And the tennis legend, moments to feed.

Not once but twice, we braved the call,
Jeddah’s cats greeted us both, through it all.
And the delicious dishes you so thoughtfully made,
They’ll be missed more than words can trade.

Every memory, every shared smile,
Made the tough days feel worthwhile.
Now, our paths may diverge, routes may divide,
But the memories linger, a bond to abide.

I wish this chapter hadn’t closed so soon,
Yet I’m grateful it started, under this moon.
As you head back home, my friend so dear,
Cherish our days, keep them near.

Until next time, Chandrayee, in a new place, with new memories.
